Headache
Headaches are common in childhood. Very few children never experience a headache.
Contrary to most beliefs, most headaches in children belong to the migraine family, even though they are sometimes referred to as benign or tension headaches.
Always try to find the triggers for the headache such as-caffeine & chocolate, stress,excessive extracurricular activities, fasting or dehydration,glare,lack of sleep,menses, refractive error.
Other important techniques for managing headaches include rest, adequate sleep, adequate hydration, regular meals, and daily exercise-any type aerobic or anaerobic.
WHEN TO CALL THE DOCTOR
Child has a fever.
Pain getting worse, occurs over days or weeks and associated with vomitting.
Wakes up with a headache.
Seeing double, weakness in arm or leg, or losing coordination,
Pain is disabling and not responding to Tylenol or Motrin.
Abdominal( Belly Pain )
Another common area of pain in children. Often times constipation and poor habits are the source.
